The Tots to Teens Yoga  Teacher Training program is designed for anyone who would like to share yoga with children and adolescents. This interactive, playful, and hands-on weekend will prepare participants to share yoga with the next generation of yogis.

 

This program is open to yoga teachers, as well as to yoga students, and those who work with children. Grade school teachers, PE teachers, school counselors, child psychologists, pediatricians, camp counselors/directors, OTs/PTs, and anyone else who works with children are welcome!

 

Hours completed for this program count towards continuing education hours for the Yoga Alliance.

 

The training addresses ages 2-teen. Whether you are looking to teach yoga to children in a studio, or would like to incorporate yoga into your current work with children, you will leave the weekend with the information you need to get started right away.

 

The course will cover all areas of teaching yoga to children and teens, including:

  • Physical, emotional, and mental development in children and teens
  • Creating an inviting and safe environment for kids
  • Pranayama (breathwork) for children
  • Asana (poses) for children
  • Yogic philosophy for children
  • Incorporating music, books, art, and games
  • Lesson planning (including sample lessons)
  • Behavior management
  • Family yoga
  • Classroom yoga
  • Props and supplies
  • Relaxation techniques
  • Resources

This program is an intensive, 16-hour, weekend training. A manual will be provided to all participants.
